### Review cash and security positions data.
An institutional investment management firm is seeking a more efficient way to obtain custody cash and securities data from their custodians. Currently, they are receiving separate reports via email from different teams at the end of each business day. The data is semi-structured and requires manual or process-based transformation for consumption and use. With the holdings endpoint in the Custody API, the investment manager can connect cash and securities data directly with their systems and receive the data according to their reconciliation or other use case scheduling requirements. The holdings endpoint provides cash and security positions from the previous business day holdings and market value for a given account or portfolio custodied with U.S. Bank. The cash positions may include currency or money market positions while the holdings can include stocks, bonds, mutual funds, options, futures and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

The data strategy of an investment manager includes eliminating non-standard daily reports from their network of custodian banks in order to support an efficient and clean reconciliation ecosystem. For investment managers who have already identified their desired data sets, systems to integrate with and preferred receipt time, the Custody API can deliver the data to their native systems aligned with their expectations.

Example use cases

The Custody API is only available for clients who are migrated onto our SEI Wealth Platform (SWP) custody system. Please contact your relationship manager or custody administrator if you would like to determine your eligibility.
