A client wants to make a large purchase but doesn’t want to liquidate their investment portfolio to fund the purchase because it’s inconvenient and may present tax implications. The Flexible Capital Platform® API lets you evaluate the client’s borrowing power of their assets and calculate an estimate for a Flexible Capital Line of Credit® that can be used to make the purchase. You can also initiate the application process and prefill the client’s loan application to help simplify the application process.

Example use cases

U.S. Bank Flexible Capital Line of Credit®: Loan approval is subject to credit approval and program guidelines. Not all loan programs are available in all states for all loan amounts. Interest rate and program terms are subject to change without notice. Credit products are offered through U.S. Bank National Association.
Suitability Notice: The U.S. Bank Flexible Capital Line of Credit® is a line of credit secured by a pledge of assets in a securities account. There are certain risks associated with securities backed demand lines of credit that would apply and there are certain limitations that would apply to the use and availability of the assets held in the account serving as collateral. As such, the Flexible Capital Line of Credit® may not be suitable for all applicants.

The Flexible Capital Platform® API helps your customers leverage the power of their balance sheets and unlock liquidity without selling securities to access funds when they need them. The API provides access to rate information that can be used to illustrate different lending options and streamline the online experience for establishing a Flexible Capital Line of Credit®.

Overview

- Estimate the borrowing power of the customer’s assets for the Flexible Capital Line of Credit®.
- Retrieve the base index name, base index rate, spread rate and all-in rate to include in the estimate.
- Validate customer eligibility and start the Flexible Capital Line of Credit® application.
