### Check balances of FBO customers.
 A payment platform has a FBO account with U.S. Bank to manage funds for their business customers. Using the Virtual Account Reporting API, the platform can check customer balances during reconciliation.

### Retrieve FBO customers’ transaction data.
A payment platform provider retrieves incoming and outgoing transaction data regularly for FBO accounts with U.S. Bank for their business customers that they manage. With the Virtual Account Reporting API, the platform can use the customer transaction details to perform reconciliation and auditing.

### Identify non-replicated transactions.
A payment platform wants to identify incoming transactions that do not have a virtual account number linked to it by passing the physical DDA number. This will help them in reconciliation and auditing of the program participant’s virtual accounts.

Example use cases

* Currently, this API can only be used by customers who participate in the U.S. Bank FBO program.
* The maximum number of transactions in a single API call is 9,999.
* The number of days between From and To date should not be greater than 60 days (about two months) for the non-replicated transactions endpoint.
* All non-replicated transactions should be reconciled within a week after the transaction date.

Virtual Account Reporting

The U.S. Bank owned for-benefit-of (FBO) demand deposit account (DDA) uses the U.S. Bank name and charter. We house the primary account and provide a virtual sub ledger through virtual accounts, so you can keep track of your individual customer’s funds movement and balances easily.

The Virtual Account Reporting API enables your application to retrieve all the virtual accounts, account details, balances, transactions and non-replicated transcations associated with a virtual account. When your application provides the DDA number, along with the transaction dates on which you opened the accounts, our API will provide virtual account details. This API provides fast, seamless retrieval of virtual account balance and transaction data into our client platform’s transaction system of record.

Overview

* Enable client applications to retrieve a list of virtual accounts associated with specific, physical DDAs.
* Retrieve details and balances of virtual accounts by entering the associated virtual account number.
* Retrieve all transactions by using the virtual account number and filtering the transactions by transaction date, value date and BAI code.
* Retrieve non-replicated transactions that do not have a virtual account linked to them, using a physical DDA.
* Replicate transactions by linking them to the right virtual account, using transaction ID. 
* Evaluate Virtual Account Reporting API features in a sandbox environment by adding it to a project.
